Stevie, Student Nurse — Marguerite Lees

Stevie had worked even harder than most nurses to achieve her ambitions; but her job as Staff Nurse and first charge of a ward called for hundred percent conscientiousness and devotion to duty that seemed more and more to intrude between Stevie and her fiance Richard Harrow. Now that Richard had left Marbury General Hospital to work with a famous London Specialist the two of them found it increasingly difficult to meet. Love and duty were constantly pulling them in opposite directions. And at last Stevie had to pause to consider: what did she really want - to go to the top of her hospital career, or forget her dreams to become the wife of a struggling young consultant?
