With big brother Pete's warning echoing in her ears, eleven-year-old Samantha Padgett sets out on her first term at Ash Grove Comprehensive. For Samantha it's a dream come true, but all too soon she's up against the tough reality of a big inner city school. Discouraged but determined not to give up, she threw herself into her work and by chance uncovers a fascinating piece of local history -- the existence of a maze of tunnels under a house.
