What is an Amazon ID?
An Amazon Id uniquely identifies your queries to the Amazon website. You must have an Amazon account to request an ID. To request an ID, please follow this link to the Amazon site. The ID is 20 characters long and will be sent to you in an e-mail. Once you have the ID, return to FictionDB to update the ID.

Which barcode on the book do I scan?
There may be several barcodes on a book. The barcode that contains the ISBN starts with a 978. For hardcovers and trade paperbacks, this can usually be found on the back cover. For mass market paperbacks, the barcode will be inside the front cover.

How do I access the pricing tools?

What kind of phone and scanner do I need?
The FictionDB pricing tools can be used with any internet capable phone and barcode scanner. We recommend the Palm Treo 650 and Socket In-hand Scan Card IS5300-464. There are many products on the market, so we suggest thoroughly researching wireless phone contracts before purchasing any plan.

Why don't you offer more advanced features?
We have found that most book dealers want a yes or no answer rather than many features they will never use. As our customers request features, we will evaluate them and determine if their addition makes sense for our site.
